According to a note in the manuscript catalogue of The Museum of Modern Western Art compiled by Ter-novetz, this was one of the favorite works of the Russian painter Valentin Serov. The canvas may be dated around 1908. A picture on the same motif entitled Mirror in a Green Room (1909) is in the John Herron Art Museum, Indianapolis (USA). The interior depicted in the Moscow canvas is close to that in Nude against the Light. Eau-de-Cologne (Musees Royaux des Beaux-Arts, Brussels).

Oil on canvas. 365 X 347 cm. Inv. No 3360 Together with its companion piece Early Spring in the Country, now in The Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts (Inv. No 3359), this panel was painted in 1912 for Ivan Morozov's mansion in Moscow. Morozov paid 25,000 francs to Bonnard for both panels.
